THIS OFFICE FOR A SMALL HEDGE FUND LOCATED IN MIDTOWN MANHATTAN WAS DESIGNED FOR A REPEAT CLIENT. MR WAS TASKED TO CREATE A CLEAN-LINED, SLEEK ENVIRONMENT FOR ITS BOUTIQUE FINANCIAL SERVICE OPERATIONS. THIS WAS ACHIEVED THROUGH A SOPHISTICATED COMPOSITION OF TEXTURES, A NEUTRAL PALETTE AND BY THREE-DIMENSIONAL VOLUMES DEFINED MATERIALLY. OVERALL SPATIAL PLANNING WAS DEVELOPED TO MAXIMIZE EFFICIENCY WHILE ENSURING VISUAL PRIVACY DID NOT COMPROMISE THE REACH OF NATURAL LIGHT THROUGHOUT AS MUCH OF THE SPACE AS POSSIBLE. WITHIN THE MINIMALIST DESIGN DIRECTION, GREAT EFFORT WAS PUT INTO CONCEALING SWITCHES, THERMOSTATS AND PANELS THAT CAN TYPICALLY CLUTTER WALLS AND CEILINGS. LIGHTING WAS CONCEIVED WITH THE SAME IDEA IN MIND. FEWER DOWNLIGHTS WERE EMPLOYED AND MORE RECESSED WALL-WASHING LIGHTING COVES WERE USED TO BATHE THE SPACE IN A MORE INDIRECT AND AMBIENT WAY, WHILE ENHANCING THE STREAMLINED OVERALL AESTHETIC. THE END RESULT IS A QUIETLY ELEGANT BACKDROP WITH WHICH THIS FIRM CARRIES OUT THEIR DAY-TO-DAY BUSINESS IN SUBTLE STYLE.
