David Mann, AIA | Principal
In 1995, David established his independent architectural practice as founding principal of MR Architecture + Decor. Since then, the firm has focused on creating exquisitely crafted architecture and interiors for internationally acclaimed luxury retailers including Dior, Lanvin, J. Mendel and Pierre Hardy, real estate developers, hospitality and commercial clients, and private residences in and outside of the city. Comprised of a close-knit team and led by a group of talented associates, some with the firm over two decades, MR has earned a reputation as a leader in the industry for its innovative and high-quality work. Shifting away from the concept that the architect dictates how a client is to live, MR focuses on collaboration and prides itself on delivering remarkably personalized service from the start of a project to its completion. The firm has been featured in numerous publications including Architectural Digest, Elle Decor, The New York Times, The World of Interiors and House Beautiful and has been included on both the AD100 and Elle Decor’s A-List. In 2017, MR published its first monograph with Abrams. In addition to his thriving architectural practice, David is a frequent contributor and guest critic of The Pratt Institute of which he is a graduate, as well as Parsons School of Design, New York School of Interior Design and various industry “think tanks.” David also serves as a member of the Executive Planning Committee for the Bard Graduate Center in New York City.
