WHEN LIFESTYLE BRAND JO MALONE OF ESTEE LAUDER COMPANIES, WAS OPENING A BOUTIQUE IN NEW YORK’S WEST VILLAGE, MR WAS COMMISSIONED TO DESIGN THE SPACE. WORKING ALONGSIDE JAMES GAGER OF ELC, MR TOOK THE EXISTING JO MALONE SHOP CONCEPT AND EVOLVED IT, TAKING THE TRADITIONAL GRAPHIC ARCHITECTURE (WHICH INCLUDED HEAVY MOLDINGS IN CREAMY OFF-WHITE THAT WERE ACCENTED WITH BLACK DETAILS) TO A FRESH NEW PLACE. SEVERAL OF THE BRANDED TRADITIONAL FIXTURES WERE RE-IMAGINED WITH A MORE GRAPHIC AND EXUBERANT STYLE. THE BLACK AND WHITE PALETTE WAS EMPHASIZED WITH BOLD STRIPED FABRIC ON THE GUEST STOOLS, ALONG WITH SHINY, JET-BLACK CHANDELIERS TO CREATE A HIGHER SENSE OF GLAMOUR AND LUXURY.
